Applications are open for UNLEASH 2019! Calling all change-makers! Do you have talent for sustainability and passion for the UN Sustainable Development Goals? Then you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to be one of the 1,000 UNLEASH talents who will collaborate on solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. UNLEASH is a global initiative aiming to create the world’s largest innovation lab for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every year leading up to 2030, UNLEASH will gather 1,000 of the world’s brightest young talents to problem-solve, innovate and collaborate in teams to develop new solutions to global challenges. In less than two years, UNLEASH has gathered 2,000 talents from 143 countries, developed 370 tangible solutions to the SDGs, partnered with +300 organizations, and been recognized as one of the world’s most influential sustainability brands. The next UNLEASH Innovation Lab will take place in Shenzhen, China between 6-13 November 2019. UNN WINS WORLD BANK AFRICA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

UNN WINS WORLD BANK AFRICA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE The Governing Council, Senate, staff and students of the University of Nigeria is hereby informed that the University of Nigeria has won the World Bank-funded Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), after a very competitive and months-long rigorous World bank experts evaluation process, involving about 134 proposals from Nigeria and many other proposals from the west and central African sub-region. UNN won the Africa Centre of Excellence Impact Project along with ten other Nigerian universities in various disciplines, such as health, pharmacy and medicine. The Vice-chancellor, Prof. Benjamin C. Ozumba and the leader of the ACE-SPED proposal team, Prof. Emenike C. Ejiogu of the Department of Electrical Engineering, received the good news from the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar A. Rasheed, on November 13th, 2018, at a ceremony in Abuja. This has since been followed by a nine day Launching and Boot Camp Training held at Djibouti from February 18-27, 2019, organized by the World Bank and the Association of African Universities. The entire University community is hereby advised to be careful with their online activities and desist from anything that is criminal or fraudulent as measures have been put in place to expose any perpetrator of such fraudulent act. Suspects will be handed over to the Security agencies for investigation and prosecution. We also want to remind everyone of the importance of holding on to your WIFI login details for your personal use alone. Please avoid giving out your login details to anyone, as they may use it for fraudulent activities which will be traced down to you as the perpetrator of the crime.

Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank. With the Payment Invoice, the candidate is requested to pay Twenty Five Thousand Naira Only (N25, 000.00) acceptance fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice number. Visit the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online. Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website. Candidates should note that this admission is provisional. If at any time in the future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, and published in JAMB Brochure, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.
