2020 UTME: 5 days ago JAMB accredits 650 CBT centres nationwide

- The board also said it had fixed the 2020 examination for March 14 to April 4 - According to JAMB, all the logistics needed for the examination has been put in place The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Sunday, January 5, said 650 Computer Based Test centres have been accredited ahead of the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that JAMB had fixed the 2020 examination for March 14 to April 4. It also said that there would be an optional mock examination for candidates is scheduled for February 18, while the sale of forms would commence from Monday, January 13, to Monday, February 17. 

Speaking on the CBTs the spokesperson for JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, said that logistics needed for the examination has been put in place. Benjamin said: “Like you may know, over 650 CBT centres have been accredited for this year’s examination and the board expects nothing short of the best practices." “We have clearly defined the process, just like we have also put a mechanism in place that will address any challenge or challenges that may arise before, during and even after the examination," Benjamin said.

He also emphasised on the need for the applicants to be in possession of their National Identification Number (NIN), for the acquisition of the registration documents. “My advice to the candidates ahead of the registration is to ensure that they seek advice or help from officials of the board." “They should not involve third parties. 

They should always ensure too that they secure their personal data," he said. Stating that there will be no extension for the sale Direct Entry forms which closes the same day as the UTME forms, Benjamin warned candidates never to disclose their personal data to anyone. 

previously reported that the board had announced that all the candidates who would participate in the examination should begin preparation. JAMB registrar who met with commissioners for education from the 36 states said the examination will hold between March 14 and April 4.
