The University of
Nigeria Alumni association based in the United States of America has awarded
scholarship of
N80,000 each to 12 students of UNN, on Wednesday, June 6 2018 at
the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration.
The Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Charles Igwe, while presenting the
award on behalf of the alumni to the awardees, noted that the scholarship fund
would open gateways for further scholarships and opportunities provided the
awardees keep improving on their academic performances. He advised the awardees
to restrict the funds for the advancement of their education.
The awardees qualified
for the scholarship having scored a minimum of 4 points GPA and meritorious
score at the pre-qualification exams.
Beneficiaries of the
scholarship included: Oloto Chimezie Kenneth, Department of Electronics
Engineering; Udochukwu Everest, Department of Linguistics/Igbo; Ayogu Kenneth
Chijioke, Department of Psychology; Cyriacus Elizabeth, Department of
Economics; Mamah Patience Ngozichukwu, Department of Mathematics; Nwikpo Ogechi
Peace, Department of Mathematics; Chukwueloka Chioma, Department of
Pharmaceutical Sciences; Emejuru Promise Chibunna, Department of Mechanical
Engineering; Okanya Daniel Udechukwu, Department of Medicine/Surgery; Chidume
Godswill Uchechukwu, , Department of Medicine/Surgery; Nnanna Chukwuka justice,
, Department of Medicine/Surgery.
One of the
beneficiaries of the award, Oloto Chimezie attested that the scholarship is
renewed yearly as long as the student maintains an average of 4 point GPA; he
said that this year's fund was his third.
